When preparing yourself to go out somewhere, may it be to work, to a date, to a meeting, professional or intimate, and the likes, you always see to it that you are wearing the appropriate clothes for the appropriate occasion. Aside from the occasion, your choice of the clothes and accessories would also have to be in sync. Wearing purple pants for a dark green blouse would not go so well together, and so are fuchsia accessories.

Such analogy also applies for web designing. All the elements should go together. There are elements that may look very good when you see them as independent parts. However, when you try to put them as a whole, it would seem that they do not really hit a good chemistry. In web designing, every detail must be taken into consideration. That is, every element that is intended to be part of the whole web page should be carefully thought of. From the color schemes, the elements of the design, how the buttons should look like, heading, pictures to be used, the font, and the likes should all be scrutinized.  By scrutiny it means that each separate parts should be placed together and see whether or not they compliment the whole effect of the web page.

Some people might disregard this notion thinking that whether everything looks good together or not, it does not really affect the whole image of the web site. This is actually a very wrong notion. Consistency creates a very professional image for the website. It projects that it is clean, organized and offers high quality service. Presenting an inconsistent website is like presenting a drawing whose draft lines were not erased. It gives an idea of hurried and careless output.

One good tip in keeping consistency is to come up with a plan before starting the whole web designing. With a steady concept at hand, you are guided as you go along the way. Always make sure that before you start the web designing, the plan that you have should be the best to avoid shifting to other things outside of the plan as the web designing goes on. However, sometimes, things do not go according to plans and there might be other ideas that would be more compatible with what has already been decided. In these cases, abandoning what was already in the plan is justifiable.

If you have already done some checking on the typography, spaces, precedence, being user-friendly, next in line in website design things to watch out for are the alignment and clarity. These two are also important things to consider when you are designing a website.

If in traditional print, alignment is a crucial element, the same also applies to we design. This does not mean that all the elements of the web design should all be arranged in a straight line. Straight line in designing connotes consistency in organizing elements in the web page. Polished organization connotes order and order helps your website give a more user-friendly effect. Elements are much easier to distinguish from one another and are much easier to digest. This ensures that everything you put in the design is noticed, thus used by visitors. Another option to improve alignment is through the use of grids. Design can be based on a specific grid.

Clarity refers to how sharp your website looks. Sharpness of a website relies on the quality of pixels used. Sharpness when using CSS is not an issue, however, the problem comes in when using Photoshop. If you are using Photoshop, then you need to be guided using these reminders: (a) Do no trust automatic cleaning of pixels. Manually snap the sharp edges of your pixels by cleaning any images that you create in Photoshop. By manually doing the clean up, you are assured that edges look crisp; (b) when you create texts in Photoshop, do so using an anti-aliasing setting that is appropriate for what you want; (c) in order to have very defined borders, set contrast to a high setting; and, (d) emphasizing borders a little more than they should could help in also making your contrast more exaggerated than is should be. These techniques are all basics but they would surely ensure a very clear result in your web designing.
