Keywords are very important in search engine optimization. They serve as a limiting element that makes your website more focused. Also, keywords help in making your website known among the million other online business out there. Thus, it is just appropriate that you know how to properly use keyword to the advantage of your commerce business.

Know which keyword to use. No matter how good your website looks like or no matter how good the service or product you are selling, if people could not find your website, then it would take some time before your internet marketing bloom. By knowing what keywords to use and by using them appropriately in you website, you will be able to bring your website closer to your target customers. There are already a lot of paid and free keyword generating tools that you can use out there. Whatever you choose, always bear in mind that in order for you to get the best keywords there are, you have to know how your customers think and know how the words that they would most likely use to search for the product or service your online business is selling.

Understanding and using the value of meta tags. Although they are not so valued anymore as how they were valued in the past, they are still very helpful in helping search engines index your sites. Try to include keywords in the titles, descriptions and keyword meta tag fields in your website by adjusting its HTML code.

Include keywords as much as you can. If it is possible to include a keyword in a certain part in your website, do so. Insert keywords in the headline, in your links in your texts, and wherever it is possible. You can also place keywords in your URL. This does not only help search engines in their indexing, it also makes your URL much easier to remember. Even the file names in your page can also have keywords. So for example, you can fashion your page file names into http://www.yourdomainname.com/keyword.keyword or something to that effect.

Lastly, and the most important reminder in using keywords that complement the previous three tips is not to overdo the use of keywords. Amidst all of the tips above, you also have to consider balancing the quantity of the keywords in your page. The tendency when there is keyword overload in the page is it does not appear natural anymore. You page just becomes a bank of keywords. To avoid this problem, make sure that the density of keywords, especially in articles, should just be around fifteen percent.

Although a lot of people are very particular with the design that you use in your website for your online business, you have to bear in mind that you should be able to compliment the design that you use with the purpose of your internet marketing. And that is to generate a lot of exposure. One way of getting a lot of exposure for your online marketing is through the use of search engine optimization.

There are things that you have to consider when using designs for your online store. One is that the design that you choose greatly affect the performance of your online business in terms of fairing well with the search engines. It goes without saying that there are some design rules that you have to bear in mind.

Movies may be nice to watch but they do not serve much for your website especially flash movies. Websites that hide behind animation using Flash gets little chance of being indexed. Search engines usually go for texts and cannot read Flash, thus when ranking sites, websites that use flash animation do not fair so well with text-based, much simpler sites.

Make use of every part of your site to place the keywords that you use. Instead of using images as part of your menu list, just use plain text. Graphics are not read by search engines. Thus, by using texts for your navigation, you get more space to place your keywords and you increase the likelihood of your site being indexed by search engine, and in turn, increase your site’s chances of getting a high page rank.

Lastly, you can include more keywords in the non-text files of your websites. This can be done by renaming name these non-text files into keyword rich file names. Also, the tag and the title of these files should also be keyword-centered. By doing so, these non-text files, which are usually not indexed, can now be indexed by search engines.

Most of these design rules above revolve around the idea of getting more places in your site to place your keywords which search engines could read. The idea is to include as many keywords as possible, in a scrupulous way, for search engines to easily index your site.
