Just like in other businesses, in eCommerce you should treat your customers with utmost care. In the long run it would really benefit you and will gain you respect and therefore give you higher ranks. It is not that simple especially if you have to talk to them face to face, but this is the Internet, you can do some things that does not require immediate interaction to customers. Here are some tips that would make your eCommerce website more user friendly.

Presentation. Your eCommerce web design should be fast and simple. People are hasty and lazy, this could also give you an advantage to sell your products by subtly recommending or suggesting your products. Present your products in a neat way. Details should also be included which includes shipping fees, deal terms etc. People dislikes eCommerce sites that promptly advertises their products which also needs them to register or subscribe before they get the information they want. If you sound too much of a spam or scam, they’ll easily click away from your site.

Provide pictures of your items. People would just mostly look at the picture and then purchase, take advantage of it. People also prefer deals with pictures.

Purchasing. Provide an easy payment form. People don’t like waiting. You can leave other details you need later, just collect the important details. Also, provide different types of payment. Some people may have bad experiences on Paypal and wants to pay in other methods or any online merchant accounts.

And to avoid a lot of future problems, provide information about the purchase like terms and services, user agreement etc.

Information. While this may not be very important to some, this is actually pretty important. Some people would like to know you, the dealer, and therefore clicks on the About Page. Give information on how and where to contact you. This would make you look trustworthy.

Spelling. Yes, it’s very important. Some people are just too strict with spelling and could easily judge your site as bad as your spelling.

Testing. Find people who would test your website and receive feedback from them. Find out what they like and what they don’t like about your site. You could also provide a comment section where visitors or users can say something about your website.

These are just some of the things that are easy to do yet easily ignored. Just keep them in mind and it will make your customers satisfied and hopefully bring in more customers via recommendation.
