Thus, if users find it difficult to navigate their way in your website, it defeats the main purpose of putting a website. That is why you should make sure that your website, may it be from a top web design firm or from an affordable web design, is very user-friendly in terms of navigation.

Here are the things that you should put into mind if you want to make your users’ website experience a walk in the park.

  1. Logos should link back to the homepage. This would be your way of giving your users the easiest route to go back to the main page of your site instead of making them look for the button that says HOME.
  2. Research says that the most viewed part of a web page is the top and left part near the header. Thus, it is only ideal that you place your navigation system near or in these areas. If you think that you have a better way of directing viewer’s attention in other areas, then you may place the navigation system somewhere else.
  3. Consistency on how your navigation system is designed also builds familiarity among users. That is why it is best that you stick to one common design in your navigation system all thought the pages of your website. This will make it easier for users to locate where they would click in order to go from one site to another.
  4. Never hesitate to place “Home” or “Homepage” button wherever you think it is necessary, especially in places where you think the user would most likely want to go back to homepage for some more information.
  5. Minimize the number of clicks required to move from a page to another page around three. The lesser number of clicks it needs to move from one page to another, the better.
